Google have been making a big push in the last year or so to get every internet site switched over to using the "secure" https protocol. I say secure in quotes, as it doesn't actually mean the server is any more secure than before, just that traffic to and from it is encrypted.
To be honest, I wasn't sure that a bunch of car posts really required such levels of data security - and passwords are also encrypted before you log in (thanks to some fancy Javascript) - so had never taken the plunge (it's not as simple as just hitting a switch!)
However, this week marks the launch of Chrome v12 - which will now enforce this "rule" and show sites not using https (and accepting input data) as insecure - thus it was time to make the switch.
Last Friday we set the site to using https only, automatically redirecting all the old traffic. To be honest, you shouldn't have noticed anything, but in case you did and something isn't quite right, please use this forum thread to report any issues :)
So you can now rest peacefully, safe in the knowledge that anything you post to the forum, can't be intercepted by your employer - meaning you can claim it was work related, and they will have no way to prove otherwise ;)
Have a great Wednesday - and don't forget to check out the trending threads below!
